The most likely problem is your Generator. The brushes internally are probably worn or stuck in their holders. Other possible causes are Blown fuse, loose wiring or defective Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

The battery light commonly indicates a fault with the alternator. A check of the charging system of your 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager would be in order.
