Looking for an issue from the ignition module causing no spark. 1991 oldsmobile silohuette 3.1 liter engine. Coil, battery, ignition switch is good and the starter. This model has no crankshaft sensor. What is connected to the ignition module that could prevent spark coming out of the new distributor ?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Hot or cold no spark
How long has your 1991 Oldsmobile Silhouette had this problem?
Four days.

Ok - good hot spark coming from coil going into but not coming out of distributor can only be caused by a defective rotor button or distributor cap.. By good hot spark from coil wire I mean will jump a 1 inch air gap to metal ground while engine is cranking and pop loud enough to hear it easily. (Early 1991 production)
You either do not have hot enough spark from coil - OR - cap / rotor is defective. That’s all it can be! (Assuming distributor was placed into engine correctly - is in time ?)
Good luck!
