Can someone tell me whats wrong when i crank the car up it has a knocking noise

If it's a knocking noise, it may be a bent push rod. If it's a taping noise it could be a dry lifter. If it's a lifter try putting a quart of transmission fluid in the crankcase, it will clean the lifters & doesn't hurt the engine. It is a good upper lubricant
