Could safety recall 15757, replacement of the front valve cover and front valve cover gasket, cause the car to shut off and brake down?

Only if it's completely out of oil and car is about to blow up. You would get a flashing check engine light and probably a low oil or temp high light as well at some point it goes into limp mode which will cause reduced power no 3rd gear and possibly no start until cool or fixed
