Its funny you should mention an ignition switch problem. My car was broken into not very long ago. In the parking lot of a repair shop no less. They tried to steal the car by busting the ignition & trying to get it started with a screw driver. So the starter just kept turning over until it killed the battery which I know it is not good for them to turn over that long. I believe I replaced the ignition switch (some part like that) so that I wouldn't have to pay a fortune to have it re-keyed. So maybe thats the problem.
