Possible water pump impeller, At higher RPM the water circulation would be better then at idle. Sounds like a circulation problem.
Any thing can go wrong with any part made, they are mechanical and carry a warranty, but they can still fail at any time. The cooling fan helps keep the coolant cool and not overheat, so that isn't the issue for no heat, if the fan wasn't working and the car overheated, the heater should work even better. If the water pump is circulating coolant at idle and all was good, the heater should be OK. If your RPM's are faster the coolant will be flowing faster, and that's when you say your heater works. If there is a restriction in the heater core, a similar problem would be a cause, but normally if you raise the engine speed the coolant is being circulated faster. In most cases the impeller could be an issue by not circulating the coolant as well at low RPM's. The cooling fan needs to turn when the temp is higher to help cool the engine. If the temp is normal the fan is not needed. Your blower is working correct?
As far as can tell,I can't hear the blower at all. When the heater was about to leave a few days ago,it was making a weird noise.Do you think that when Meineke, put the rebuilt engine in my car,and transferring the parts from the old-new,they didn't do something wrong, but I don't think so because when I picked up the car,the heater was working well and was working up to the frist snow we had.I seen the road salt on my hoses,so do you think that the road salt clogged up the heater core and how's that done to get it unclogged? Will I have to flush out the system;again?
I am now thinking you need to check the blower motor and/or the blower resistor. If your only feeling slight air coming through the vents then the blower must not be working. You should be able to turn the fan on high and use lots of hair spray.
How long does a water pump last? The last one I've brought for this car was in 2006 and Firestone put it in.How much should I paid for that,if that's the issue?Could it be a clogged heater core? Asked a question on the internet. The cooling fan isn't turning. Thanks
