What is your question?
Hi, Recently I hit what I believe to be a semi-truck tire on the highway at 65mph. It struck the drivers side of the vehicle and caused a few damages. One particular damage that I can't figure out is a hissing noise from what I found to be a vacuum leak. Above and further ahead from the driver side front tire there is a dangling vacuum hose that is connected to what is now a broken piece of plastic (See pictures: imgur(dot)com/a/7jFRR and imgur(dot)com/a/J53UB ) ( Put an actual dot "." when putting it in search browser, this website doesn't allow direct links). The drivability of the vehicle seems to be unaffected and the only thing that I can tell has changed is the sucking noise from the hole in whatever this part used to be before it was destroyed. So my questions are, what did this vacuum hose used to go to? What did this part do? Is it critical? Should it be fixed? How do I fix it? Thank you!

I can't see the picture so its hard to tell which vacuum hose it is. It may be running ok because the computer is compensating but you really need to have it fixed. Eventually you will get a check engine light and running issues can come into play. Alex
