What is your question?
I am in the process of buying a Catalytic converter; because the one currently on my vehicle is not California compliant. I have to ensure that the CARB compliant cat that I buy is approved for my specific vehicle type; however, there is no clear way to determine the vehicle code for my specific make, model, and year. I have a 1994 Oldsmobile Bravada btw. Apparently California laws are so strict that the model number of the CARB compliant cat I buy has to match up with the Pre OBD2 vehicle category that my car falls under, but finding out my vehicle category is difficult since no internet searches yield any results. An example of Pre OBD-2 vehicle categories are T-1, T-2, PC-1, PC-2, etc. California air resources board has a list of vehicle categories and matching/approved cat model numbers, but does not specify what the vehicle categories mean. Anyone have some solutions to the unnecessarily complicated problem I seem to be in? Thanks for the help.
What makes this problem better or worse?
California laws
