how do i replace front left axel

The axle must be removed in one piece. It must com out of the wheel hub. The transmissonndoes is not involved in this repair. the axle is mounted to the front differential. It would be a good time to check the differential lube while you have the car up on stands for the axle replacement but you shouldn't lose any since the axle is driven by a bolt-on flange, not actually inserted into the differential like on a front-drive car.
