occasional hard shifting

I dont think you have a software problem. When a software problem happens it will allways hard shift. I would have your transmission checked it may be symptoms of the transmission going bad.

I'm having the same problem have you ever gotten an answer to your question?

I disagree with #1 ......intermittent electrical can cause the transmission to go to a default mode of shifting which is basically a limp home mode, and preventing slippage in effort to exacerbate damage
