Hard shifting

What is your question?

Our 2001 Aurora shifts hard when taking off, from a stop. Shifts fine, once up to speed. Have had the fluid changed, as scheduled. Told it could be a "valve box", but after reading your article, could it be software? Any thought's would be appreciated.
