Location of air conditioner system to recharge it

I would not consider air conditioning work a "do it yourself" type of servicing. The system may not need recharged. If it does, though, you need equipment to evacuate and vacuum test the system for leaks. Leaks need to be repaired before adding refrigerant. Besides all that, maybe your refrigerant system under the hood is OK and there is a temperature control issue? Troubleshooting should be done first.
