Is there a wire i can cut or something i can do to get rid of that chip in the key? The car is low miles runs great...just get stuck....and its happening more often now!

in most cases, the lock cylinder is the issue and needs to be replaced. i would have that confirmed. there is no wire to cut to get rid of it. Roy
check ohms resistace of key,go to radio shack and run resistor between 2 white wires,therefore bypassing all that headache in switch,worked fine for me,then you can get another key made without that chip because no longer needed
there is a white wire that runs to both contacts that make contact to chip in key if they don't make contact car won't start,or will shut down any time they lose contact
