When accelerating from a stop my car is very sluggish loss of power.

Hello, As dependable as these vehicles are, exhaust gases will eventually take their toll on the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR), and the EGR valve can become stuck open. That is not a guarantee, but is most likely. Also, if the vehicle always has a loss of power, you may be dealing with ignition system problems, or fuel delivery problems. I would begin by inspecting the EGR system if the sluggishness is only when accelerating at low speeds, but if the issue is always present, the ignition system and fuel system pressure would be tested. Also, listen for a hiss while the engine is running as you may just have a vacuum leak.
