What is your question?
I've had a small coolant leak for a while. My car inclined buddy said that as long as I fill and change fluids regularly I shouldn't have to worry too much about it. Well, I'm worried now. The leak amount is increasing and I can only assume it's going into the engine. I'm in a financial bind, and was considering tackling this repair on my own. Ive got a little mechanical experience but most of this project would be "learning as I go." Are there resources available to help? It's a 2012 Nissan Xterra.

Hello, first, you can't prove anything until diagnostic testing is performed. Have you or anyone else performed a cooling system pressure test to see if the leak can be located? If you somehow determine it is an internal engine coolant leak, this is not a "do it yourself" project for the novice home mechanic. I appreciate financial binds, but consider losing your vehicle entirely. That's a bigger bind yet. Seek guidance from a local technician and shop near you that can offer real world help and a path forward you may be able to live with.
