Not getting fuel
1 Reply
Hello, When the vehicle is run out of gas, the fuel pump or fuel filter can fail, here's why: And sediment or debris in the fuel tank sinks to the bottom, and when the last ~1/8 tank of fuel is used, it is all sucked into the fuel filter, causing a clog. The fuel pump is lubricated by gasoline. The fuel system program may call for the fuel pump to run anytime the door is opened, when the key is turned, or only for a moment before the engine is running. Since the pump was run at some point without lubrication, I would suspect it as well. Do you hear the fuel pump humming when you open the door or turn the key? Have you checked the fuses and scanned for OBD-II trouble codes? If so, post them here, and I'll help you out.
