Nissan xterra 2005 I I lose power while driving

What is your question?

if on the freeway I lose power it will start up again ..when I do lose power in the city I can hear the engine still on but will lose all power lights stereo ect ..and when I do try to idle or step on the gas nothing happens

What makes this problem better or worse?

nothing dont matter hot or cold
