What is your question?
Is it more likely common or uncommon for the timing belt to damage the engine on a 3.3 l v6 Nissan Xterra 2003. I was turning onto a street probably going about 20 miles per hour definitely not over 30 and the engine just cut out and died and I pulled you over and didn't hear any clunk snaps or anything just wouldn't start again I tried change and all kinds of things and I tried starting it a lot but I have it at the shop and they're trying to tell me the engines blown before they even looked at it so but I'm seeing a lot of stories on here about how people got away with it not being blown.

Hello, I'm seeing conflicting information as to whether or not this engine is an "interference" engine -- meaning, the valves can strike the pistons if the timing belt separates. Some say it's going to cause damage, and some say not. Honestly, even with an "interference engine", tear down is needed to find out if there is any damage and if there is -- what the extent of the damage is. It is definitely a rush to judgement to suggest "the engine is blown" without some tear down and inspection. Get another opinion. Good luck!
