Why wont my taillights rurn off

It's probably not the tail lights. Most likely it's your brake lights that are staying on due to a bad/failed brake light switch,around a $10.00 part to fix it.

There is a small button type piece of plastic that the switch pushes against. They break after they get old. Look in floor for pieces of plastic. The hole that piece goes in is big enough for the stem to brake switch to go through can use a penny. I put a plastic bolt with a nut in the hole problem fixed.
