Would a tie rod loosing make it possible to loose control of your vehicle

It's called a tie rod because it ties the steering to the front tires. There's an inner and outer tie rod but they're part of the same assembly. I'd recommend not driving the Versa if this is happening because if that tie rod breaks while driving, it can be deadly.
