What is your question?
My engine was missing and shaking bad. It threw a check engine light with a misfire in cylinder 3. I took it to the local mechanic who said the plug was completely burned out with some of it burned off. I had low compression and needed a new engine. He said he could replace the plug and coil as a patch but couldn't guarantee it would last a week. I've gone 3 weeks of light driving with no issues. It will puff a little smoke from time to time and burns some oil but not a ton - normally about a quart per oil change. It seems to do fine for a while and then intermittently will smoke for a brief period. How can I know what the problem is?
What makes this problem better or worse?
smokes worse at startup
How long has your 2005 Nissan TITAN had this problem?
a few weeks

Hello, you will know if you have an unresolvable internal engine concern if your spark plug becomes fouled again quickly. But, it could be some time for that to happen again - so it could be that you are able to buy some time before major engine repairs are needed. I would recommend continuing to drive as normal.
