Car only goes in reverse

When you have no engagement in forward movement gear, most likely there has been some kind of internal catastrophic failure of the transmission. Has there been a fluid service performed recently? I am pretty certain this is a "CVT" - continuously variable style transmission. If the wrong fluid is added or used, it can cause problems. If the fluid is low or degraded - it can also cause issues. Since we don't know all the details, it's a lot of assumptions -- so it is too difficult to provide any valuable advice.
