Blower fan was only on high Replaced blower motor resistor and no fan comes on

Put the old resistor back in.. Does it work on high only again? Suspect the new resistor is improper or faulty, the wiring connector the resistor could be damaged or melted, a wiring problem may have occurred or the blower has additional issues.
