What is your question?
When I press the button to release my fuel door it will take up to ten minutes of clicking to finally open. I used to only have to press it 5 or 6 times when I first had the problem so I didn’t think to get it fixed since the inconvenience wasn’t too big. Is there anything I can do to fix it so I only have to press it once like I used to?
What makes this problem better or worse?
The problem has only progressively gotten worse
How long has your 2018 Nissan Rogue had this problem?
About two months

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. Not having access to be able to fuel up can be an infuriating experience. It sounds like it should be a simple fix though, there's an actuator and a spring behind the fuel door. The spring being the simplest, and probably the most common issue, the spring is responsible for 'pushing' the door open when the actuator is activated by the switch. The actuator serves as a retention or locking mechanism when the door is closed and may not actually be activated when commanded by the switch. This could be because the actuator, switch, or the electrical wiring between the two, could be failing.
