Nissan Rogue cracking sound

The noise started 6 months ago. I have changed both CV axles on the vehicle, and the sound won’t stop. The sound is most loud when I turn on the vehicle and put it on drive. The wheels start turning and a cracking sound is heard from the drivers side. I accelerate the vehicle and it starts cracking even more. As the day goes by the sound lessens and will only sound when I turn left or right.
