I filled up and should have been able to reach my destination and have some fuel left, however just before my destination I almost ran out of gas. Filled the tank and the display only registers 272 miles to empty when normally it's over 300.

Hello, The readout adjusts for fuel consumption, so one of three things are happening. -The fuel level sending unit is defective -Your pattern of driving has become more aggressive or through more strenuous conditions -There is an issue causing the engine to use more fuel. If you have not been driving aggressively, in stop and go traffic, up hills, and the fuel gauge shows a reading all the way from full to empty, there is likely a fuel consumption issue which should be addressed through diagnostics.
