dtc p1031 and p1051 codes what do i need to do to fix it

First it is not a O2 sensor. It's a Air Fuel Ratio Sensor. There's a big difference. Here is a possible procedure to fix the problem. Also a definition of the codes. Customer Concern: Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is ON. Setting Air/Fuel (A/F) ratio sensor heater circuit codes P1031, P1051 and closed loop bank 1 and closed loop bank 2 codes P1148, P1168. Tests/Procedures: 1. Check voltage to the A/F ratio sensor heaters on the Red/Yellow wire (harness side color) at either A/F ratio sensor - look for battery voltage key ON. 2. If low or no voltage to the A/F ratio sensors on the Red/Yellow wire, check 15 amp fuse #15 in the under-dash fuse box for being loose, blown or missing. P1031 is most likely a bad heater circuit in the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. Disconnect the sensor the two black wires at the sensor should have continuity across them or the heater element in the sensor is bad. Ignition on you should have 12 volts at the connector end of one of the two wires that attach to the element circuit. The second code is also sensor related. Sensor 1 is always pre catalytic converter, sensor two is always post catalytic converter. If an engine is a 4 or 6 cylinder engine the whole engine is considered bank 1, if an engine is a V6, V8, V10....., the engine bank containing cylinder number 1 (first cylinder in the firing order) is considered Bank 1, the other bank is considered Bank 2. Interpretation Oxygen sensor designation B2S1 refers to Bank 2 Sensor 1, it will be the sensor on the engine side of the catalytic converter in bank two.
