How do I get things to work while the car is running

Hello, You might just have a bad ignition switch or body control module. Have the ignition switch tested, it has to send power to everything when the key is in each position, and if it does not, the switch might be failing. That being said, I would not expect the engine to stay running if thi were the case, but the ignition switch may have more than one circuit for each position. Testing is required.
