What is your question?
My transmission went out and I found a rebuilt transmission. My truck is a 1996 Nissan 2.4l 4x4. And the rebuilt transmission is out of a 1993 2wd with a 2.4l

The part number for the 1996 4WD transmission is: 320202S761 The part number for the 1993 2WD transmission is 3201057G21 The part number for the 1993 4WD transmission is 3201057G62 This tells me the following: 1) there is a difference in probably the housing of the 4WD versus the 2WD transmission assembly, and or internal components. 2) the model years also have differences in the transmissions Because of this I would not try this swap. Whereas they both may bolt up to the engine, you could have clutch operation issues, flywheel issues, pressure plate issues, shift lever issues...who knows what the differences between the units are, but there clearly are differences.
2 wheel drive transmission is NOT interchangeable with 4 wheel drive transmission.. Period.
Thank you guys this was super helpful. Looks like I'll be rebuilding my transmission.
Transfer case will not bolt up to the transmission case - not to mention the different tail shaft lengths. As much labor that’s going to be involved in this repair - for your own well being - get the correct replacement transmission - and a know good one! They’re not that hard to repair - provided the hard parts (mainly cluster gears) aren’t broken up.. Maybe should consider rebuilding your transmission (?) (?)
