service engine light on loose power after 4 miles stepping on gas not going

The temperature going up high concerns me most of all. Sounds like you could have an internal engine issue where coolant is leaking into the lubrication system. Just a guess, but when you have high temperatures and a loss of power, it definitely raises eyebrows.
