Alternator only charging to 12 volts

What is your question?

I have had the alternator tested, and it is fine they say. But my tester is reading it just above 12 volts at idle. I just put a brand new battery in it today, is there another part to the charging system that I am overlooking?

with the engine off,you should be reading 12.6 DC volts on the battery terminals. with the engine running,you should get a reading of 13-15 DC volts on the battery terminals. (14.2 is bout ideal/perfect)
