Catalytic Converter Replacement

What is your question?

Was given an estimate of $1,000 to replace right side catalytic convertor from a local shop. This seems VERY HIGH? Can someone recommend a shop? This guy who does not have a shop said he will do it for less than half, if I buy the parts, however he does not have a shop? Thanks.
