Hey Carla, This sounds like a possible window switch, but it could be a failed motor, regulator or wiring too. Try jiggling the switch while trying to close the window, if the switch is failing, this will often get it to work temporarily. You can try operating the switch and also smack the door panel, open and close the door, what you're trying to do is see what makes the window start operating, and this help to isolate the cause of the problem.

This happens to me mostly in cold winter days, it used to happen to my GM van as well.
