1998 Nissan Pathfinder sputters and shuts off

What is your question?

My 1998 Nissan Pathfinder (178,000 miles) recently started sputtering and the engine shuts off. This happens after I park overnight and I start driving for about a 1/2 mile and come to a stop or slow down on the freeway. I'm not getting any error notices or check engine lights of any kind so ther is no diagnostic code for me to provide. I changed the sparkplug wires,rotor and distributer cap and it still sputters and shuts down. Now instead of sputtering in stop and go traffic its now sputtering when I drive the freeway and the engine shuts down. Please advise and thanks in advance
