Before you spend any money, try this simple test. With the key turned off, try to move your steering wheel either left or right. If you can barely move the steering wheel, there's a possibility the locking mechanism in the steering column is preventing you from removing your key. A lot of times people turn their car off with their wheels turned and the locking mechanism in the steering column prevents their key from coming out. The way to get your key out is to release the pressure off of the steering column. Turn your steering wheel in the opposite direction the tires are pointing...The pressure should release from the sttering column and the key can be easily removed. Sometimes, you will even hear a click in the column once the pressure is removed. Once you get the key out...stick the key back in while still holding the steering wheel and crank the vehicle. Turn the wheels straight and when you cut the car back off, the key should remove easily. I hope this helps.
If you can turn the key in the 'ON' position then you may be able to remove the cylinder. You can remove the upper and lower plastic that surrounds the ignition lock and there is a pin that can be pressed in to release the cylinder when the key is in the ON position. Then you need to take it a locksmith and have them repair or replace the cylinder.
