This does NOT make sense. What do you hear... a click, the engine cranking but not starting or nothing?

Hi, Just to get a clarification, you can hear the starter operating, but it isn't turning the motor over? Or is the motor turning over but not starting?

can hear the cylinoid but won't engage the starter
Thanks for the update...sounds like the solenoid is bad, doubt it is available separately, you probably need the entire starter motor.
yes, the starter will not engage but we can hear the cylinoid
they tell me they can hear the cylinoid, but it will not engage the starter
does this make sense??
A) You hear the solenoid click and then hear the starter motor spin, then the solenoid is not engaging. B) You hear the solenoid click, and the starter motor doesn't spin, then the solenoid is engaging but the starter is not spinning. From what you describe, it is symptom "A", is that true?
