Why doesn't the passenger seat raise or lower and there is a horizontal lever?

There is a horizontal level on the passenger seat indicating that the passenger seat can be raised or lowered. However, this device does not work to either raise or lower the seat. The service advisor reported that the raising and lowering is not possible with the passenger seat.
This is a 2018 Platinum Murano. Your previous page did not give a 2018 option for choice.
