What is your question?
After 2 engine shutdown events w/the “ABS” and “Skid” dash lights going on, the car would only restart if I shut off ignition for ~90sec. which also reset dash warning lights reset. I found an auto electrical shop & they found when the alternator was replaced 3 months prior, the bumper assembly had been replaced incorrectly, crushing wires & creating shorts & blown fuses, even registering the dash’s outside temp. as 131degrees! They replaced damaged items and the Murano seemed to work fine but 2 weeks later same engine stop problem happened again. This time it I had to turn off the car a second time for the engine to start. My electrical guy says he can only diagnose now when the “ABS” and “Skid” dash warning lights are on, but if it happens again, shutting off the Ignition is the only way to restart the engine again and If I do that the car’s computer resets and the “ABS” and “Skid” lights are no longer on and I don’t believe AAA will tow it with the ignition on!
What makes this problem better or worse?
The engine shut off happened one more time but after the wires were fixed. The Murano did not start after shutting the ignition as it did before the wires were replaced but before I shut off the Ignition the second time I engaged the manual feature of my automatic transmission, shut the ignition switch off and then put the shifter back into park and the engine started OK
How long has your 2015 Nissan Murano had this problem?
It began about 2-3 months after the alternator was replaced. The problem was reportedly diagnosed as crushed wires and shorting of these wires but even after replacement it happened once. On the three occasions the engine shut down before and after replacing the wires I estimate to be a total of five weeks

Hello, your concern sounds frustrating. I really strongly advise you to find a shop near you that is a little more competent than that which you have been dealing with. Crushed wiring and damage? Maybe some was repaired but there could be more concerns. What's happening is a loss of throttle response as a safety measure because the car cannot see certain components operating and for your safety prevents driving the vehicle...like a "safe mode". I encourage you to seek out a good technician near you to help. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554. Thank you for your input. I’ll try anything at this point and that certainly sounds like a good place to start. Much appreciated
