Hello, it's definitely a serious question to consider. And, no one can really answer that question except for you. A couple factors come into play when considering this question. 1) Is the vehicle in otherwise great condition? Has it been historically well maintained? Have you owned it since new and know everything about it's history? If those are all "yes", then, it may be worth it to invest in the vehicle with the transmission replacement. 2) Is the vehicle paid off? Do you have the means to purchase a new vehicle? Would monthly payments make sense on a replacement vehicle, or spending a large amount of cash up front? If you have means to purchase a new vehicle, and it fits into your budget, I would definitely strongly consider doing so rather than investing in a 10 year old vehicle like this. 3) Does this vehicle have any sentimental value to you? If so, this definitely plays into the decision making. 4) What kind of warranty would you get with the replacement transmission? If it's 3 years or more, and lots of mileage -- like 75,000 or more -- then, it's worth considering. If it's 6 months or a year, I'd avoid it. Hope this helps bring up some thoughts -- good luck!
