Hello, Unfortunately the 3.0 v6 Nissan used in the Maxima has solid lifters and only make noise when there is a lack of oil pressure. On some high mileage motor's where there has been a large amount of wear there is a procedure to replace the lifter face puck's. These repairs are normally done after the cylinder head's have been rebuild at the machine shop. There is a procedure to replace them with out removing the head's but it is a every time consuming and costly repair. Labor alone is close to $2000. I would make sure you problem is lifter related before I would consider this repair.
