What is your question?
Today while I was driving my speedometer quit functioning along with my cruise control feature. I tested and visibly checked all of my fuses and fuse sockets and everything checked out perfectly. Later on while I was driving my speedometer decided to function again off and on momentarily but not long enough to test if the cruise control was also working at the same time. All of my other gauges appear to be working properly still only the speedometer and cruise control seem to be affected. Since it's not an issue with my fuses what else could this be? And how can I fix it myself? I don't have the funds for a shop and or any mechanics so if It's possible to explain in (for lack of a better term) stupid or simple English a non mechanically inclined female can understand and ther help of a Chilton mechanics manual id really appreciate an explanation and manual chapter to refer to to fix it. Thank you.

If I was looking at the vehicle, my initial area of concern would be with the wiring and sensor for vehicle speed. Check here first. If the vehicle's processor cannot properly determine vehicle speed, then cruise control will not work, as well as other symptoms.
I understand wanting to save as much money as possible - I also know what it’s like to have little of it. However sometimes you can easily cost yourself more by guessing at the problem and replacing parts haphazardly. I’d opt for a scan test to help with the diagnosis as there are a few possibilities. Good luck!
‘Some’ code readers will be capable of showing live sensor data which is a big help but it will be necessary for personnel viewing the data to be able to interpret and apply.. What I’m getting at here is a friend or neighbor may have such necessities.
Live data will show if there is a problem with the vehicle speed sensor OR the speedometer itself by comparing the two readings .. It is a pretty straight forward test that should be doable!
