I'd suspect a defective intake air temp sensor. But I'd check it before I replace it. Should have resistance, not be shorted. If it were open (disconnected) it would probably read -40 degreesF or C, I suspect it's shorted. At 68 degrees F it should read about 2.1 kOhms to 2.9 kOhms, at 176degrees F, it should read about 270 Ohms to 380 Ohms. If it's OK, check the wiring.
