What is your question?
The valve cover gaskets are just starting to leak. Service shop says they can tighten --- what is the possibility this will create more of a problem then if we just go ahead and have them replaced?

Not sure if you've already serviced your truck, but just wanted to share a few things. It's important to note that valve cover gaskets shrink with age and this could be a possible cause of the leak. Simply tightening the valve cover doesn't solve the shrinking problem. (As with all repairs, unless it's looked at, it's difficult to quickly 'diagnose'.) If your gasket hasn't shrank, tightening the bolts *may* help. Generally, the gasket is a very inexpensive part and the labor to replace can be minimal. You're better-off simply replacing it to avoid any future leaking.
