What is your question?
Pulled the transmission to repair a rear main seal. Replace the seal and reinstalled the transmission. 2 wires on the transmission range sensor came loose. I purchased a new sensor and installed it. Now the transmission won't shift from 2 to 3rd gear. Any idea what might be the problem. Thanks in advance Tom

Hello, it sounds like your concern would be related to the sensor that became compromised. Review the part and wiring on that system to ensure each wire is where it belongs, the connector and harness is clean and not damaged. It seems clear there must be an issue still present. Also, validate a correct and high quality (original equipment) part was used to repair the vehicle.
All OE parts were used. I just rechecked the fluid and showed about a 1/2 quart low. Put in 1/2 quart of fluid test drove it and if didn't help. Rechecked for codes and code P0705 came up. What's the name of sensor you're talking about.
I've checked the connection several times and all are good. I checked with a few local transmission shops and have been told it could be the ECM not communicating with the transmission or the transmission went into a safety mode. Your thoughts. Please, I don't know where to go from here.
So you have checked for resistance from one connection to another? For all wires in the related harness? I'm not talking about making sure it is plugged in. Did you use a DVOM to check for continuity? Have you checked the appropriate circuits for power and ground? The problem is: if you're not prepared to do this work, it's all guessing. I'd say 99% it's not an ECM issue. Having the trouble code present indicates a major clue on where to look. This is a positive thing! But it doesn't tell the cause of the problem. I'm sorry it's not simpler but nothing can replace the proper testing required. If it's not something within your skill set, then seek guidance of someone who can check the circuit.
Thanks for all of your suggestions. When I find out what the fix is, I'll get back with you. Thanks
OK! One of the transmission computer/solenoids had to be replaced and everything was working fine. Then! After driving it 25-30 miles it said those terrible words, “SERVICE ENGINE SOONâ€. I completed a scan and code “P0744 Torque converter clutch circuit intermittent†appeared. Any suggestions? Also while you're thinking about that, here's another question. I've been around cars all my life (63) when all you needed was a spark and fuel and a motor would run. 2nd question. When the vehicle has been setting for at least 24 hours completely cold without being driven, coolant come from some where in the front of the engine. I drive it to my mechanic he pressure test the system, no leaks. Drive it back home let it set 24 hours coolant leak again. With it cold, I've checked every hoses (about 6) and the water pump and can't find any kind of leak only where it's dripping off and there are no hoses or water jackets in the area. If it can go wrong, it will happen to me. :-( Thanks in advance.
Hello, the P0744 code could be related to an electrical concern like with wiring, or a problem with the torque converter clutch itself. Since you've had wiring issues thus far, I lean towards electrical, but the circuit really needs to be tested and monitored with a diagnostic tool. If you have a coolant leak, you'll just have to painstakingly keep searching for the course of the leak under pressure. It could be a hose that is swelling when warm. It's really hard to say. Good luck.
That code relates to the PNP switch -- the Park - Neutral position switch. Inspect the wiring and this switch itself. The connector may not be fully seated for example.
