my son bought a used 2015 Nissan Altima from a Ford dealership. the car had 57000 miles, next service is due at 63000. Nissan recommends a cvt flush and brake fluid flush, how necessary are both? obviously it won't hurt doing it but is it worth the money? car runs beautifully by the way

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I am looking at the Nissan Altima maintenance guide for 2015 and I do not see any requirement from Nissan to replace your CVT fluid. That said, I'd probably drain and fill the fluid every 30,000 - 60,000 miles -- but I would never suggest "flushing" it. It's not necessary and could even be detrimental. As far as brake fluid, it's an industry standard to replace the fluid every 2-3 years - as brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it attracts moisture naturally - which means it can inspire corrosion to the brake system if left unchanged. So yes, change that. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link to find some shops near you who can help out!
