Can you switch the whole wheels and tire from a 2004 Ford Taurus SE to a 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 S?

I looked online and from what I can tell, they both have the standard tire size of P215/60R16. Is it safe to do so? I already have aftermarket 18" or 20" rims on the Altima that apparently aren't so compatible with the car, and I am ready to junk the taurus but I remembered that I have fairly new tires on there, so if the rims would fit and pose no safety issues, it seems like that is the way to go.

You may be able to swap the tires from wheel to wheel if they are the same size. But the wheels are not something I would try to swap, as the offset is likely not compatible...nor is the bolt pattern for the lugs.
