what causes low rpms in drive and normal rpms in neutral

What is your question?

My 2014 Nissan Altima. 1) has a recent high pitched whine. 2) pressing the gas the rpms go up slowly while in drive. 3) pressing the gas while in neutral or park the rpms go up as normal.

What makes this problem better or worse?

seems to be better when first starting the car.

How long has your 2014 Nissan Altima had this problem?

a few weeks for the whining noise, 1 day for other symptoms.
