What is your question?
In early July around the 12th my Nissan Altima started jerking forward and shut itself off at a stop sign. After researching the problem on the internet I found out about the Nissan issues with the CVT transmission. I drove the car home and parked it in the garage. When I took it in to be looked at the service guy told me the torque converter locked and I would need a new transmission to the tune of $4100. First question is does the whole transmission need to be replaced and if so what is a good estimate on where I should take it.
How long has your 2013 Nissan Altima had this problem?
few weeks

Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops The answer I would give you is that it wouldn't be shocking to suggest the transmission assembly needs to be replaced based off your concern. Certainly, get a second opinion, but truth be told, it's likely going to need a replacement. As far as an estimate, reach out to shops near you as posted first. You'll have the option of remanufactured from more than one source, or used.
