Naturally, for future reference, it would be recommended that the negative battery terminal should be disconnected to halt battery power in the vehicle if making repairs -- but nonetheless I cannot be sure this influenced anything. Hands on testing of the starting circuit is needed. It is possible that a fuse has been blown that may have been impacted by your work, but it's impossible to know.
