my car won’t start without a battery connected to it and it keeps clicking when i try and start it it just keeps starting over and over

I would recommend checking your battery for state of charge and the ability to sustain a load. I would very you have a known good battery installed. Then, checking cabling and the starter motor for proper integrity and operation is a next step.
